Kim Ki Jung, Kim Sa Rang pave path to quarter-final round of 2012 Korea Open ? Badminton Update
Men?s Doubles experts Kim Ki Jung and Kim Sa Rang played their given roles to perfection and outclassed Mohd Razif Abdul Latif-Jagdish Singh in the second round of Korea Grand Prix Gold on December 6, 2012.
This pre quarter-final match ended in just two sets as the prime Korean team registered an impressive margin of 21-10 and 21-13.
Ki Jung and Sa Rang, who jointly hold sixth spot in the World Ranking, forged a fruitful chemistry in the opening game and bagged first match point with distinction.
Their coordination was commendable as the opposing team could not find even a single loophole to manipulate.
They laid foundation of their authority immediately in the beginning by dominating the establishing rallies.
They dictated their rivals all the way to game point situation and wrapped this segment of the showdown with a huge difference of eleven points.
The Malaysian campaigners made every effort to make amends but they could not match their competitors? skills.
Razif Latif and Jagdish Singh looked confused from very first stroke to the last one. They received a severe blow of five-point deficit in the beginning and then few back-to-back unforced errors doubled the trouble.
They played with a passive approach until the final moments and this ultimately resulted in a shameful figure of 10-21.
On the other hand, the top seeded Korean duo made best out of this timely win and repeated the history in the following game.
The twosome of Ki Jung and Sa Rang looked completely on song as both partners did not show any sign of confusion and transformed their 1-0 lead into a straight-set victory.
Initially, they employed interesting tactics and kept a low profile which resulted in a tight margin but then they picked up some speed and piled up a mountainous total of 11.
Their strategy was right from the coaching book in latter part of the game as they stayed focused and cast out the Malaysian pair with 21-13 score.
Now Ki Jung and Sa Rang will join hands against Kah Ming Chooi-Yao Han Ow in the quarter-final round.
