---Children (14-18) have to capture the flag in order to go home and live in freedom, but every participant risks death.
The world suffers from overpopulation. The people are stuck in poverty because of it and the majority of the world live in slums. As a result, every couple is only allowed one child. The few rich people opt to have surgery after their first child to prevent them from having any more, but those from the slums can?t afford to.
As a result, children are born frequently in the slums - illegal children. In the past decade, the government have introduced what?s come to be known as The Game. Basically, it?s a dangerous version of capture the flag. It encourages extras to come out of hiding and earn the right to a free life. All they have to do is get the flag.
The child gives themselves up to the authorities (or is captured by the authorities) at the nearest Collection House where their name is put into a draw. Once every three months, thirty names are selected from the draw and these children get to participate in The Game. The remaining children are put to death.
The Game is set in an arena (The same one is used every time, so there might be evidence of previous games still there) where a flag is hidden somewhere. The aim of the game is to capture the flag and take it back to the starting bay. The participants are allowed to join together in teams of up to four people. If the team succeeds in getting the flag, the whole team survives and are allowed to go home and live freely. Those that survive The Game but don't get the flag, are sentenced to death. It is common for participants to kill each other, particularly when a team has the flag and are trying to return in to the starting bay.
When participants have been selected, they spend three days in the Preparation Area. Each child gets their own cabin and spends a few days with each other. During this time, they are expected to form groups (if they wish) familiarise themselves with the map and are given equipment (but no guidance) so they can practice survival techniques. There's equipment littered around throughout the actual arena. If the participants are lucky, they may come across the base of a previous group from a previous game that could be stocked with things that may come in handy.
There are many dangers in The Game, including hungry wild animals and starvation, but the most feared are Hunters. Hunters are people that hunt down participants and kill them. Hunters are extras who were specially selected in another draw. If the Hunter fails to kill at least one participant, then they are sentenced to death. If they succeed in killing, they are a hunter in the next game. No one would want to be a hunter as it very rarely leads to freedom and they are often killed during the actual game. Hunters have to last four games before they can go free.---
People could role play participants or Hunters and the RP would begin when the participants first get to the Preparation area (or if you're a hunter you can start in the game, before the participants enter). We would only need a handful of people as the rest of the participants could be NPCs (that way they could be killed, injured etc).
So would anyone be interested or have any ideas to make it better?
